There is always work to do...

Building a privy at our cottage.
Look what I found! A big boletus!

Fresh mushrooms...delicious!

A lot of fire wood to be done for the next winter to come.

End of May lake is ice free

In the beginning of May we still have quite some snow and lakes are frozen.

By the end of May - after 7 months - our cottage lake is open again.

First tour with our boat this year!

Snow, snow, snow!

We really don't have any lack of snow! ;-)

Snow has an isolating effect and we don't have to heat as much.

The best time of winter is still to come!

January is a cold month

We bought a new wood stove. Just in time. January is the coldest month so far with temperatures up to -40 degrees C.

Cold but beautiful.

The path to our ice hole to get fresh water.
