September hike for myself

Recently, I have found the passion of hikine alone. Most of my hikes in life I have done with other people, mostly family members. I was so used to it that I didn't even consider hiking on my own. After all it's safer to hike with someone else rather than alone, isn't it? Yes, it might be. But is it less fun? No! Not for me at least. Once I decided to hike alone and I just marched on it felt better and better with every minute. I figured it gives me the chance to enjoy some time for myself, let my mind wonder while walking and even though it can be demanding physically at times it relaxes my mind to just get out and be in nature. It feels exciting to plan a route and even if it seldom goes as planned it just feels so good to have accomplished my hike in the end with all its ups and downs. To accomplish a hike means success "YES, I did it!" and even though my body is tired my mind is so peaceful afterwards. Every hike is a learning process as well.

I still do hike with friends, too but it feels different and depending on my mood I make a choice of walking with company or rather alone. When I say alone, I still am not all by myself at all times. I often do take Diva, our dog, with me.

I even found the passion of walking my own path through the woods with the help of my mobile phone. It can be demanding at times and may not to be recommended at all times but again it's a learning process as well.
